Persuading, And Helping, 18-30 year olds To Set Up Their Own Business

Trying to get 18-30s to actively engage with a public body can be difficult enough, without a business-orientated message. Radio promotions on broad and niche youth stations gave depth to the message as DJs spent time discussing entrepreneurship. Depth of message was also provided through The List, Scotland’s entertainment bible, in which we initiated a brand new “Work” page, featuring motivating editorial on previous applicants of the Gateway scheme. Activity also ran on the Glasgow underground, with bespoke outdoor in Edinburgh.

And the results? The campaign exceeded all expectations: we doubled the response targets.   By January 2006 over 4000 grants had already been awarded and the business plans are still coming in.
